David C. Traub brings nearly four decades of experience as a social impact media producer, entrepreneur, venture catalyst, and global mental health advocate. His work sits at the intersection of mass media storytelling, emerging technologies, and pro-social innovation, with a sustained focus on mental wellness, economic development, and human capital advancement.

Over the course of his career, David has produced and contributed to major social impact initiatives, including work connected to the Steve Jobs film, large-scale social benefit concerts, and multiple United Nations–aligned events held during recent General Assemblies. For more than 36 years, he has been deeply engaged as a mental health media and technology activist, dedicating his efforts to advancing awareness, education, and scalable solutions in the mental wellness space.

David has served as an educator with the Harvard Graduate School of Education, with parallel collaboration at MIT’s Media Lab, and has been described as a “propagandist” for positive social change through his work connected with UC Berkeley. As an entrepreneur, he developed the “17 Questions Mythological Evaluation” platform, designed to help individuals identify their personal mythology and life purpose. His philanthropic efforts include co-producing multiple mental health–focused fundraiser concerts and award-winning mental health-related video game initiatives. He is also credited as the originator of the concept of a music- and celebrity-powered mental health roundtable.

His engagement with the United Nations spans three of the last four General Assemblies. During UNGA 73 in 2018, David produced and hosted The World Awards for SDG Achievement within the UN’s SDG Media Zone, recognized as the first major Sustainable Development Goals award show hosted at the United Nations. That same year, he was honored at the UN for his positive use of mass media entertainment for social good. In 2019, during UNGA 74, he produced and hosted A Celebration of Peace within the Delegates Dining Room, marking the first time a UN event formally linked global peace with mental wellness. In 2020, during UNGA 75 and the UN’s 75th anniversary, he served as Producer, alongside founding partner Barry Perkins, for the UN75 Global Governance Forum Mental Wellness Roundtable focused on mental wellness for refugees, migrants, and disenfranchised populations. During this period, he and his partner launched the nonprofit GlobalMentalWellness.org as a long-term “moonshot” initiative aimed at accelerating global mental health solutions.

David’s earlier social impact productions include co-producing Guitar Heroes 2 in 2018, a nationally syndicated fundraiser supporting mental health and victims of the Los Angeles fires. He previously served as Executive Producer of Miami Rocks the Troops in 2012, Unity for Vets in 2011, and Unity for Peace in 2010. Beyond production work, he serves as an advisor to GCH Foundation, which delivers health, mental wellness, and leadership education to more than three million children per week across 93 countries. He is also the co-founder of EIC.Earth, a think tank dedicated to advancing a mentally healthy humanity and building human acceleration micro-communities.

Across all of his work, David’s central mission has been to leverage media, technology, artificial intelligence, blockchain, immersive content systems, and large-scale storytelling as powerful tools for delivering mental wellness, economic development, and meaningful social value at scale.
